• Responsible for driving the computational identification and design of novel binding motifs or interaction sites informed by existing target-ligand data. The objective is to generate alternative structures capable of engaging a defined molecular target with high specificity and functional relevance.

Responsibilities:

• Apply extensive knowledge of protein structure and ligand interactions to inform rational design of novel binding motifs.
• Utilize advanced AI-based structural biology tools (e.g. AlphaFold 2/3, Boltz-1, Chai-1, Rosetta, AutoDock, Schrödinger Suite, etc.) to model, predict, and evaluate protein-ligand interactions.
• Integrate existing structural data and literature to guide computational hypothesis generation and motif discovery.
• Conduct in-silico screening and docking studies to assess candidate binding sites or scaffold viability.
• Collaborate across disciplines to translate computational insights into experimentally testable molecular designs for downstream validation.

Qualifications:

• PhD or MS (with 3+ years of experience) in structural biology, computational biology, biophysics, bioinformatics, or related field.
• Candidates with strong demonstrated skills may be considered regardless of advanced degree.
• Deep understanding of protein structure, folding, and ligand-binding mechanisms.
• Foundational understanding/working knowledge of AI-driven modeling and molecular design platforms such as AlphaFold 2/3, Rosetta, AutoDock, or Schrödinger Suite.
• Experience in in-silico screening, molecular docking, and structure-based design workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret structural data and translate findings into actionable designs.
• Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary startup environment with a high degree of autonomy.
• Prior experience in early-stage drug discovery, synthetic biology, or rational design is a plus but not required.
