Overview
Westtown School seeks an experienced certified Athletic Trainer to start immediately. The Athletic Trainer provides initial assessment and treatment of athletic injuries and collaborates regarding ongoing treatment and rehabilitation for student-athletes. Partnering with the Athletic Department, Wellness Center, coaches, parents, physicians, and others, the Athletic Trainer supports the health of student-athletes, adheres to school concussion protocols, develops and maintains emergency medical kits for school teams, and serves as a first responder to emergency situations involving student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer will work collaboratively to ensure appropriate support for student-athletes, in accordance with all school policies and relevant state and league regulations.
The Athletic Trainer will have experience and expertise in evaluating and treating a wide range of common medical conditions for student-athletes. The ability to nurture and support students' physical, mental, social, and emotional development is essential. The Athletic Trainer actively supports the life and mission of the school by serving students and families and advancing the efforts of the school's Athletic program. The work schedule will include afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.

Essential Responsibilities
Provide medical services for games and practices as determined by the Head Athletic Trainer; Document daily treatments and athletic injuries in Magnus EMR, maintaining the confidentiality of health care records and medical information; Manage the treatment and prevention of injuries through the application of modalities and protective administration of tape wraps, and bracing; Develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation/preventative exercise programs; Instruct athletes (by appointment) in performing therapeutic exercise to improve conditions; Support the efficient management of the Athletic Training Room; Follow Westtown School's athletic EAP while responding to incidents and/or accidents; Work under the direction of the school's physician and assist the Head AT with updating protocols; Manage supply inventory, including restocking of medical kits each season; Act as a preceptor for West Chester University and Neumann University; Serve as a co-advisor for Upper School students; If housing is provided, serve as a Dorm Parent in the school's Residential Life Program. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred Must be certified and hold a current Pennsylvania State License Three years or more of school-based athletic training experience preferred Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of medical treatments, including IASTM/Graston technique Preference to candidates who are qualified to assess wrestling weight certification Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding assessment, treatment, and return to play recommendations Outstanding attention to detail with regard to documentation and injury tracking Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and medical professionals in pressured situations Ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision Ability to lift 100 pounds, assist patients on and off of examination table, and work outside in a variety of weather conditions A collaborative spirit and the ability to connect meaningfully with colleagues and students throughout our diverse community; Strong affinity for the mission of Westtown School and an educational philosophy consistent with the school's values Willingness to take on multiple roles within the school and openness to teaching a 9th-grade Health & Life Skills class is preferred.
