As an Automation / Controls Engineer, you will work independently or with a Team to design, develop, test and maintain PLC based automation systems. These include PLC, HMI, Flow Computers, Loading Controllers, and other industrial automation devices. This position will require you to develop control narratives, cause and effect matrices, data maps, and other customer requested documentation. Besides programming and documentation, you will also be required to troubleshoot wiring and programming issues during the commissioning phase of a project. The Automation Engineer fosters productive internal and external working relationships and may periodically provide guidance and train other team members.
Technical Responsibilities: Engineering and technical support for process control, instrumentation, and measurement technologies. Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) software. Evaluate and troubleshoot applications programming code. Knowledge of PLC & HMI platforms, including Allen Bradley, Client, Schnieder Electric, and others. Install, troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain end devices, including transmitters, VFDs, soft-starters, flow computers, & loading controllers. Experience with truck loading systems, including TMS, Multiloads, or Acculoads a plus. Ability to read P&ID and electrical diagrams and other complex electrical drawings and provide reviews of design/construction drawing packages. Provide on-site services, including oversight of system installation, lead commissioning efforts, and supplying troubleshooting support as required for industrial applications. Able to apply knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and restore equipment to operation. Ability to troubleshoot electrical wiring issues during startup and commissioning phase of project. Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years in Industrial Automation & Controls Engineering. Oil & Gas or Heavy Industrial Automation experience preferred. Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering. Currently posses, or have the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) from the TSA. Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers. Work from home,
with the
bility to travel 25-50%
within the USA. This varies based on the project's requirements.
