Automation Application Engineer

ProSearch Recruiting Partners, an independent franchise of the MRINetwork that specializes in hiring for factory automation OEMs and integrators, is hiring for a long-established leader in automation, motion control, and mechatronic solutions. With a long-standing reputation for delivering innovative motion control and automation solutions, the company is seeking a highly technical Application Engineer to serve as an expert advisor to customers on component selection, system integration, and controls programming.
The Automation Application Engineer will be responsible for the following day-to-day activities:
Advise customers and internal sales teams on motion control component selection for complex automation systems
Design system-level solutions incorporating motors, drives, actuators, and sensors tailored to customer needs
Program and configure PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) to meet application-specific requirements
Manipulate raw data to develop real-time insights and integration into broader systems
Implement and support IT, IOT, and I/O conversion architecture as part of automation solutions
Develop and test programs using C++ or similar to support machine-level communication and analysis
Collaborate with account managers, product managers, and suppliers to deliver technically sound solutions
Generate and review technical documentation including specifications, diagrams, and system layouts
Support post-sales engineering efforts, including troubleshooting and customer training as needed
Stay up to date on emerging technologies within motion control and automation
The Sales Account Manager will have the following experience:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
2-5+ years of experience in automation, controls, or motion component engineering
Deep understanding of motion control products and applications (servo motors, drives, actuators)
Strong programming skills, particularly in C++ and scripting for automation environments
Proven experience in PLC programming and industrial system integration
Strong knowledge of IT and IOT systems, and experience with I/O conversion protocols
Ability to analyze and manipulate raw machine or system data
Familiarity with industrial protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, Profinet, Modbus)
Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Customer-facing presence with the ability to explain complex technical solutions clearly
The Automation Application Engineer will be rewarded with:
Salary Pay : $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 Salary/year
