What it's like to be An Automation Engineer Lead at evco's oshkosh production facitlity
As an Automation Engineer Lead at EVCO Plastics, you will experience a highly dynamic and engaging work environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing and supporting automation related activities within our plant's production floor. Support would include programming gantry and six axis robots, debugging existing controller programs, troubleshooting issues within electrical and pneumatic controls including their affiliated mechanical systems.
The Automation Engineer Lead will drive efforts in closing out automation projects within established budgets and timelines, but also lead continuous improvement efforts within the plant, towards optimizing existing processes to enhance operating efficiency. As a Lead Engineer you will ensure equipment PMs are being executed and documented, and also drive accountability by developing, maintaining and communicating action trackers during scheduled team meetings.
You will lead a small team, guiding them through troubleshooting and problem-solving tasks while collaborating closely with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless operations. Expect regular meetings to discuss progress on action items, new incoming work or projects relative to the perspective plant, idea sharing and innovations, challenges within projects, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and accountability, your role will be integral to achieving our operational goals while maintaining high-quality standards in manufacturing.

Candidates should possess strong electrical knowledge, particularly in troubleshooting and maintaining of automated systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as PLC, ladder logic, and other scripting languages for debugging and new program development. Experience with mechanical design software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks for new part design, or implementing improvements on existing designs.
