1st Shift (06:00 - 02:30) Pay Range :
$38 - $44 per hour on W2 Job Description : Performs aircraft maintenance including inspection, operational testing, repair, and modification of aircraft electrical and avionics systems. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provides technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other employees as needed. Possesses a high degree of expertise in aircraft electrical and avionics systems. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance and technical manuals, publications, and special tools and test equipment. Familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical and avionics systems. Possesses a thorough working knowledge of detection, prevention, and treatment of corrosion. Essential Duties & Accountabilities : Troubleshoots and rewires complex avionics and electrical systems, addressing discrepancies and modifications. Coordinates with customers, OEMs, management, and work centers regarding aircraft and system modifications and repairs. Provides technical assistance, guidance, and instruction as required. Estimates and assesses damage to avionics and electrical components/systems related to crashes and mishaps, including repair or replacement, man-hours, parts, and materials. Maintains cleanliness of the work area and around the assigned work area. Adheres to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations. Follows the Company Tool Control Program. Handles and disposes of hazardous materials in accordance with Vertex and OSHA policies. Uses automated equipment and software in performing duties. Performs OOMA functions for aviation maintenance when assigned. Provides customer support during launch and recovery and aircraft security when on the flight line. Complies with physical security requirements and all OSHA and safety standards. Enters daily hours worked into the company timekeeping system. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Logs work accomplished and makes appropriate logbook entries. Performs aircraft functional checks. Maintains records, completes logbook forms, condition tags, and parts requests per publications and directives. Uses blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturer’s drawings in duties. May perform Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or GED. Certification as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate. Experience with CH-53E Communications/Electrical System Organizational Maintenance. Must meet any government or company licensing/qualification requirements. Extensive depot-level repair experience, including repair of components, airframes, or end items beyond organizational capability. Minimum of 6 years’ experience on CH-53E aircraft. OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Valid state driver’s license when required. Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance and CAC access. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be physically capable of performing all duties. Ability to work with materials without causing skin, eye, or respiratory irritation while wearing PPE. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
