Food & Beverage Captain
Full-Time
Compensation: Starting at $25 PER HOUR
Reports to: Banquet Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Banquet Captain to assist the Banquet Manager with leading the banquet team. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable of all aspects of banquet service, possess excellent leadership and customer service skills, and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties of the Banquet Captain are to include but not limited to: Working knowledge of club policies and guidelines as outlined in Brook Hollow Golf Club's Employee Handbook Monitor and manage inventory of china, glass, and silverware Oversee banquet event set-up according to the CEO descriptions and type of service the event requires Communicate with the Culinary Team to coordinate the timing of courses and execute any dietary restrictions Ensuring the food and beverage service is up to the Brook Hollow standard Provide training and supervision to banquet staff throughout the events to provide excellent service Communicate with the guest before, during, and after the event to exceed expectations Responsible for ensuring staff is aware and ready to execute daily assignments and side work to be completed in their respective areas Creating innovative and creative dcor for buffet spaces Directs pre-function meetings as needed Perform additional duties as directed by a manager or supervisor Tending to guests' requests, questions, and complaints Works in other areas during banquet off season. Other areas may include Ala Carte dining room supervisor, Pool deck supervisor or bartending
Special Requirements A minimum of 2 years experience as banquet captain or similar Excellent leadership abilities with teaching and motivational skills Great time management and multitasking abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must have basic computer knowledge and be able to produce consumption reports, understanding of Microsoft platforms preferred Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays, and/or overtime if needed Must work well with others as a team and help co-workers as needed Maintain a high energy with a positive and professional appearance Should have an eye for detail Must possess honesty and integrity Must be always courteous and tactful Must be innovative and look for areas that need improvement
