Emmerick Group (on behalf of client) About Emmerick Group Emmerick Group is a specialist workforce solutions firm supporting major chemical and energy projects across North America and Southeast Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer with deep, hands-on Chlor-Alkali experience to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple U.S. chemical manufacturing sites. This role is critical to supporting process improvements, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across membrane cell technology, brine treatment, chlorine, hydrogen, and caustic production. This is a leadership-level technical role — not a desk job — and requires a proactive engineer who thrives in complex production environments, engages with plant teams, and brings sharp problem-solving to operational challenges. Key Responsibilities Serve as the company-wide SME for Chlor-Alkali process systems, providing technical guidance to operations, engineering, and leadership teams Drive improvements across Chlor-Alkali units, including brine purification, electrolysis (membrane cell), and downstream chlorine/caustic handling Audit and evaluate site-level performance, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve yield, energy usage, or reliability Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for any Chlor-Alkali related incidents or deviations, ensuring learnings are captured and standards updated accordingly Support plant commissioning, debottlenecking, and turnaround planning where Chlor-Alkali processes are impacted Collaborate with Process Safety, Maintenance, and Capital Projects teams to align engineering decisions with operational and regulatory standards Mentor junior engineers and site leads in Chlor-Alkali chemistry, controls, and troubleshooting best practices Support management in setting technical standards and strategy for Chlor-Alkali production performance across multiple sites Ideal Candidate 8+ years of experience in Chlor-Alkali plant operations or process engineering Deep technical understanding of brine purification, membrane cell electrolysis, caustic/chlorine/hydrogen separation and storage Experience acting as a technical authority or site-wide resource for Chlor-Alkali systems Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities — hands-on with process data, controls, and continuous improvement tools Comfortable traveling across multiple U.S. locations to engage with site teams and assess live operations
