is seeking a
Lead Lighting Artist
to join our Boston studio to work on
Cyberpunk 2 , the upcoming sequel to
Cyberpunk 2077
and the next major installment in the Cyberpunk franchise. In this role, you will leverage your expertise, leadership skills, attention to detail, and passion for storytelling through cinematic and emotionally impactful lighting to build and lead a team of talented lighting artists. Leadership & Team Management
Lead the Lighting Team to produce high-quality, emotionally compelling cinematic lighting. Manage team members through reviews, setting clear deliverables, and maintaining motivation, inspiration, and productivity. Recruit, mentor, and guide team members while fostering a culture of creativity, trust, and technical excellence. Collaborate with Directors and Production to plan and estimate work, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Monitor progress of lighting tasks and communicate any obstacles to the team. Artistic Vision & Execution
Work closely with the Art Director to uphold the artistic direction and core vision of the game. Participate in discussions on artistic problem solving. Collaborate across disciplines to support gameplay, cinematics, and environments through exceptional lighting. Ensure lighting solutions are performant and within technical constraints. Take ownership of certain lighting tasks to lead by example. Pipeline Development & Technical Problem Solving
Lead the development of the lighting pipeline to create a streamlined and efficient workflow for the team. Engage in technical problem solving discussions. Collaborate to develop tools and technologies that optimize lighting workflows and advance real-time lighting capabilities. Qualifications
At least 8 years of experience in the video game industry, including contribution to at least one shipped AAA title. Proven leadership experience as a Lead Lighting Artist, with a history of mentoring and developing talent. Deep understanding of performance optimization for real-time lighting. Strong knowledge of PBR concepts and real-time rendering techniques. Excellent proficiency with Unreal Engine 5. A portfolio demonstrating mastery of artistic principles such as color theory and composition, and the ability to convey emotion and storytelling through lighting. Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. Curiosity, kindness, initiative, and a positive, professional attitude. Additional Information
This position is based in Boston, US, requiring in-office work in a hybrid or full-time capacity.
