DCFS aims to keep children safe, support individuals and families to become self-sufficient, and provide refuge during disasters. Position Overview:
The role is an entry-level position, with duties including developing case plans, conducting home visits, investigating child abuse/neglect reports, providing supportive counseling, and coordinating services with community resources. The position requires compliance with background checks, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in various parishes, including Ascension, Lafourche, St. John, and Terrebonne. Compensation:
The positions have a Special Entrance Rate (SER) with bi-weekly pay ranging from $1,404.80 to $1,948.00, depending on the level (Trainee to Child Welfare Specialist 3). Premium pay may be available for hours worked beyond standard schedules based on years of service. Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of child welfare experience, six years of full-time work in any field, or a bachelor’s degree. Additional requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and passing background checks. Application Process:
