CMS Laser Tracker Technician - BWX Technologies, Inc - Barberton, OH
Requirements:
CMS (Coordinate Measurement System) Laser Tracker Technicians are responsible for performng 3-Dimensional inspection of large pressure vessels and steam generating equipment using portable coordinate measuring systems such as Laser Trackers and Articulated Measuring Arms. Upon completing a training and qualification program, candidates will be respoonsible for planning and developing inspection methods and routines, conducting data collection surveys, and analyzing and reporting results to determine acceptability to customer requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum A.S. degree in technical field, or a minimum 4 years of relevant experience Candidate must have a working knowledge of mechanical drawings and blue print reading along with basic knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 GD&T standard. Strong 3-D visualization skills and some experience with 3-D CAD/Modeling are also required. Previous experience using Laser Trackers, Articulated CMM's is desired but not required as training will be provided. Must possess good math, geometry and analysis skills and should be proficient with MS Excel. Candidate must be willing to perform hands on work in a manufacturing environment including working inside of confined spaces and at heights. Must be able to obtain a security clearance and pass a qualifaication exam upon completion of inspector training. Candidate must be willing to work on any shift for an extended period of time and be able to work independently with minimal direction.
