TO: ALL TEACHING AND ADMINISTRATION PERSONNEL BROCKTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS FROM: Dr. Kathleen F. Moran, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources SUBJECT:Director of Career and Technical Education 6-12 Plan, supervise and administer all areas of career and technical education, grades 6-12, for the Brockton Public Schools. Assess career pathways and lead innovation and the development of courses and programming, expand vocation and career opportunities for middle and high school students, and assist teachers to become increasingly more effective in guiding the educational process. Exercise leadership and serve as a liaison in all areas of Career and Technical Education, grades 6-12. QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Administrative licensure as Supervisor/Director- Non-Core, with prerequisite educator licensure in any of the following areas: Business (5-12); Health/Family and Consumer Sciences (All levels); Science, Mathematics, or Technology/Engineering (5-12) 2.Masters' Degree from an accredited institution with a broad background in Career and Technical Education and Business Education (Preferred) 3.Five or more years of successful secondary teaching and/or administrative experience in related fields. 4.Experience with grant management/ 5.Knowledge of Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Provide leadership in the development of all existing and new philosophies and programs regarding the newly created career and technical education, grades 6-12. 2.Provide leadership in the implementation of policies, procedures and instructional practices for the Career and Technical Education Department. 3.Work with all administrative personnel under whose sphere of responsibility the Career and Technical Education Programs exist or are being planned. 4.Assist in recruiting and hiring new personnel for the Career and Technical Education Department, grades 6-12. 5.Supervise and evaluate the staff involved in the Career and Technical Education Staff, grades 6-12. 6.Conduct monthly meeting with the Career and Technical Education Staff, grades 6-12. 7.Lead the Department in compliance with all rules and regulations. 8.Administer the financial management and budgetary process involving Career and Technical Education. 9.Orient administration and faculty in all Brockton Public Schools towards programs and objectives of the Career and Technical Education Program. 10.Act as a liaison to the Brockton Community. 11.Coordinate and supervise all Career and Technical Education Programs and related activities. 12.Responsible for the oversight of the financial management and budgetary process involving Carl D. Perkins Vocational/Technical Grant. 13.Perform such related assignments as delegated by the Superintendent and/or his designee. COMPENSATION: According to BEA Contract. (1.50 ratio) WORK YEAR: 12 Months
