Description: The Sterile Processing Technician cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes all instruments used for surgical procedures and patient care. The technician performs daily biological and sterile supply testing and maintains logs for each. The role requires functioning throughout the facility to organize and direct instrument needs to units. The technician assists clinical operations as needed with endoscopy procedures. Stocking and ordering supplies for the unit as directed is also part of the job. The technician will be involved in completing competencies based on relevant policies and standards for sterile processing practices. Working collaboratively with others within the department is essential to ensure an efficient and professional environment. The technician will communicate with other departments to promote patient safety. Applicants must be healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment.
