Duties & Responsibilities: We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Software Systems Architect to join our team developing state-of-the-art avionics test & certification products. The candidate will hold a highly visible position in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment. This technical role involves responsibility for the software architecture across multiple avionics test & certification products, driving convergence where possible. The successful candidate must have proven experience and leadership skills in avionics technologies, and the ability to align teams around innovative architectures, tools, and processes.
Position Title: Avionics Software Systems Architect Responsibilities:
Interact with marketing, operations, and other divisions to achieve business goals.
Participate in the full lifecycle of software development.
Collaborate to create software architecture roadmaps and improve development processes.
Develop and maintain a product/technology roadmap aligned with industry trends and strategic objectives.
Support the convergence of tools and processes across R&D locations.
Mentor other software leads to enable cross-site development.
Make informed business and product trade-offs using business acumen.
Perform risk assessments and encourage informed risk-taking.
Manage complexity and lead teams through ambiguity and evolving details.
Prerequisites / Skills / Experience: Required Qualifications:
BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
At least 8 years in systems architecture or engineering leadership, with 10+ years in software development.
Expertise in RTCA/ICAO standards relevant to avionics.
Knowledge of avionics systems like transponders, TCAS, ILS, VOR, DME, TACAN, ELT.
Proficiency in C and C++, experience with UI technologies.
Experience with network protocols, TCP/IP networking.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle, Agile, and traditional project management.
Experience leading development teams, mentoring, and cross-site collaboration.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
