Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Survey CAD Drafter to join our team. This role involves preparing high-quality survey drawings and base maps for commercial development and DOT infrastructure projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of land surveying principles, CAD standards, and experience collaborating with surveyors and engineers. Key Responsibilities:
Draft and edit survey plats, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, boundary surveys, and construction staking plans. Process field survey data (point files, field notes, and raw data) into Civil 3D to create accurate base maps and surfaces. Generate plan and profile sheets, cross-sections, and other deliverables for DOT and commercial projects. Ensure compliance with company CAD standards and DOT-specific drafting requirements. Collaborate with survey crews, project managers, and engineers to ensure accurate and timely project delivery. Perform quality control checks on drawings and data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Maintain organized project files and documentation. Qualifications:
Proficiency in Civil 3D 0-2+ years of experience in survey drafting, preferably in commercial and DOT projects. Familiarity with survey data formats (CSV, TXT, FBK) and coordinate systems. Understanding of land surveying principles and terminology. Ability to interpret legal descriptions, plats, and engineering plans. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Skills:
Experience with DOT standards (e.g., state-specific CAD requirements). Knowledge of GIS software and data integration. Familiarity with Trimble Business Center or similar survey processing software. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
