A Principal Engineer is a leadership role that focuses on overseeing and driving the technical direction of projects for specific geographical regions or scopes of engineering services.. You will be responsible for project success, ensuring adherence to client specifications, budgets, and timelines. You will also manage and mentor other engineers.
For this specific role, JDH&A is looking for an engineer to expand the execution of our structural engineering practice, that will directly support the needs of the construction operations within Michels Corporation. This expansion will under the direction of senior leadership within JDH&A and will primarily focus on contractor-deferred analysis and design as well as structures contracted through alternative delivery processes (design/build, progressive design/build, CMGC, etc). Experience in construction engineering (temporary structures, erection engineering, means and methods structural analysis), bridge engineering, dam engineering, marine structures and/or general heavy civil structural design are a plus.

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering, 10+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination
- Currently holding a Structural Engineer (SE) license or having passed the NCEES 16-hour structural engineering exam with which to obtain an SE license via comity without additional testing needed.
- Must possess a valid driver's license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
- Actively involved in professional societies and on technical committees related to work
