Job description
Infosys is seeking a
Mainframe Developer.
This position's main responsibility will be to translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the existing application frameworks. The candidate will be applying the technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, capture accurate requirements and work closely with team members to prioritize tasks and the scope of development. The role will require solid attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and make adjustments in a testing environment while contributing towards developing and adhering to best-practices for developing applications that are scalable, relevant, and critical to the project.
Required Qualifications:
•Candidate must be located within commuting distance of
Hartford, CT
or be willing to relocate to the area. •Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education. •At least 2 years of Information Technology experience. •Experience in COBOL, AS/400. •Has Developed and execute the complex SQL queries on DB2/AS400 database to get the data and create a stored procedure to be called upon by servers. •Candidate should be able to connect with business team and translate business requirements into technical requirements. •Ability to communicate effectively with multiple collaborators at onsite such as DBA, Infrastructure team, Network team, Business, Architecture group.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with application development and support. •Exposure to Agile methodology of project execution will be an added advantage. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
