We are recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) with a national Clinical Trials Participation Award, FCS offers patients access to more clinical trials than any private oncology practice in Florida. Our patients have access to ground-breaking therapies, in a community setting, and may participate in national clinical research studies of drugs and treatment protocols. In the past five years, the majority of new cancer drugs approved for use in the U.S. were studied in clinical trials with FCS participation prior to approval.

Summary
The Compliance Education Director is responsible for the oversight of all Coding and Billing Compliance education and partnering closely with Core and Privacy Compliance to ensure timely development and completion of all required education. The Compliance Education Director works closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and Coding Compliance Director to assess risk and develop strategic education for physicians, aimed at mitigating coding and billing risks.
The Compliance Education Director will be responsible for communicating the results of all Coding and Billing Compliance audit findings to the corresponding physician and advanced practice providers and providing the necessary education to improve audit findings. The Compliance Education Director shall work to identify new regulations from the state, federal and private payors, and work with the Chief Compliance Officer to determine the impact to the business for educational needs to the physicians and other stakeholders. The Compliance Education Director will monitor and review all state, government, and payor updates, and shall coordinate education to update the organization accordingly in all areas of Compliance.
Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
Primary Tasks And Resres
Oversight of the Coding and Billing Compliance education, ensuring timely audit results and corresponding education to all physicians and advanced practice providers. Identification of key risk areas in Compliance, and development of education to address. Works with operational Revenue Cycle Management team to align with regulatory updates. Identifies opportunities for education for FCS providers and staff. Partnering with Core and Privacy compliance to develop education and disseminate to the organization. Participates in weekly planning huddles with Compliance leadership. Presentation of key education metrics to the Compliance Committee. Works with Chief Compliance Officer to assess risk and develop strategic education where required. Oversight of educational coordinators in Compliance. Contributes to new hire orientation, new physician education, and performs all education as needed. Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures and implements methods to improve processes. Performs highly sensitive education required for corrective actions or investigations under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer. Tracking trends and analytics with Compliance education. Oversees the completion of government required educational needs, such as DSN-P, Medicare Advantage, Fraud Waste and Abuse, and other required trainings. Provides personalized one on one training with providers, as required. Identifies potential government or state regulatory updates to determine FCS impact. Training and Mentorship of downline. Development of Training Manuals, PowerPoints and policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of all information as required by regulations and guidelines. Knowledgeable of federal and state Coding regulations. Staying abreast of continuously shifting Compliance landscape to ensure FCS remains in compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations, laws, and policies. Performs additional tasks as needed to support team and FCS
Education/Certifications & Licenses
Bachelors in health care related field required. Coding Certification from AHIMA or AAPC required. Compliance Certification required or obtained within one year of employment.
Experience
Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience with coding and/or billing required. Prior supervisory or management experience required. Experience with education delivery required.
Core Competencies, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Capable of managing competing priorities. Experience with government audits and responses. Proficiency with ICD-10 diagnosis coding, HCPCS, and CPT coding required. Professional Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding knowledge required. Knowledge of medical record documentation, medical terminology, and coding terminology. Strong educational development and delivery skills. Ability to review and interpret government, state, and payor regulations, manuals, and guidance. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), Coding software, and Practice Management Systems. Analysis & critical thinking; using resources available to solve problems and exercise independent judgment. Must be comfortable discussing, reviewing, and educating providers on processes and regulations. Strong interpersonal skills to include effective verbal and written communication to all levels of employees and physicians. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint. Solid time management skills with the ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks at once with changing priorities/deadlines. Ability to collaborate across various levels of management, departments, and teams.
