Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Prepares, maintains communication systems, and ensures accurate documentation and integration of communication systems into a configuration baseline, including managing software patches/updates and processing changes in coordination with the Government. Ensures updates for communication components and adherence to sustainment practices. Tracks maintenance trends and cost drivers to contribute to lifecycle management. Helps establish a consistent standards for equipment, network protocols, configuration, and operational procedures. Remains current on regulatory requirements. Works with next-generation wireless technologies, including 5G and 6G systems, which are integrated into cellphones and Internet of Things (IoT). Assists with integration of advanced digital, Radio Frequency (RF), and antenna technologies. Manages and enhances internal and external communications. Implements system design and implementation, configuration, network management and design (i.e., Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN), wireless systems), security, technical documentation, and vendor management.
Minimum Qualifications
15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Strong understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC) Ability to analyze complex technical problems and propose effective solutions
Preferred Requirements
Experience with DoD systems and acquisition lifecycle Proficiency with systems modeling or simulation tools Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
