What to Expect
Tesla is on a path to build humanoid robots at scale to automate repetitive and boring tasks. The goal of our Machine Learning team is to develop a general robot learning system that leverages AI for complex physical tasks, including full body locomotion and precise manipulation. This role involves hands-on data analysis for the Optimus team, building data pipelines, tools, and applications to automate analysis. It offers a unique opportunity to work on state-of-the-art algorithms for object manipulation, culminating in deployment to real-world applications. What You'll Do
Write fleet queries and Python scripts to source new datasets Analyze distributions of robot data components to identify anomalies Write scripts to sanitize data using heuristics or learned models Develop methods for data acquisition, clustering, and cleaning Build metrics to track model improvements across datasets Write alerts to flag anomalies during data collection
What You'll Bring
Experience in building large models and datasets Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy), SQL (PostgreSQL), MATLAB, R Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams Strong work ethics and willingness to take on multiple roles
