We’re supporting a well-established and rapidly expanding construction firm hiring a
Construction Estimator
to join their
preconstruction department . The role focuses on estimating
public works and infrastructure projects
including K-12, municipal buildings, and government contracts. The ideal candidate will lead cost development, subcontractor bid analysis, and value engineering from early-stage design through final bid submission.
This is a high-impact position for someone who’s confident managing estimates across multiple trades, navigating public agency requirements, and building strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Core Duties:
Analyze construction documents and develop accurate cost estimates
Identify and resolve scope gaps or design inconsistencies
Manage subcontractor bid outreach, walkthroughs, and proposal evaluations
Provide preconstruction scheduling input and site logistics planning
Support proposal creation and attend owner-facing meetings as needed
Track historical cost data and develop comparative cost studies
Qualifications:
At least 10 years of experience in estimating construction projects
Solid background in public works, K-12, or municipal construction
Strong grasp of RS Means and estimating software platforms
Excellent collaboration, documentation, and communication skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience required
