We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing, programming, commissioning, and validating industrial control systems, including PLC software development , HMI screen design , and system commissioning for a variety of industries and environments. The ideal candidate will bring a deep technical understanding of Siemens PLCs and HMI programming, along with the flexibility to adapt to other platforms as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and commission industrial control systems, including PLC programming and HMI design , tailored to meet diverse industrial requirements.
- Write, test, and debug PLC and HMI code on-site, ensuring smooth integration and system functionality.
- Conduct peripheral device programming and machine PLC programming to facilitate machine debug, power-up, and validation processes in collaboration with the build and electrical teams.
- Design and implement control systems in accordance with customer specifications and DyAG build standards using established techniques.
- Travel to customer sites to support system installation, startup , and commissioning, with a daily per diem of $68 provided.
- 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering and PLC/HMI programming .
- 3+ years of recent experience programming Siemens PLCs (Step7 or TIA Portal) and HMI screens.
- Proficiency with additional PLC platforms, such as Allen Bradley , Omron , Mitsubishi , or others, is advantageous.
- Capability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch.
- Familiarity with hardware design using AutoCAD , Promise-E , or ePlan is a strong plus.
- Experience with automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with customers, teams, and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to travel for installations and system start-ups as required.
