Job Description SYSTEMS ENGINEER NEW PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE FOR A SYSTEMS ENGINEER IN SOUTHAMPTON Searchability NS&D has a permanent opportunity for a Systems Engineer to work across a range of projects. Salaries up to £90k + package. Must have active SC Clearance. For more details, please contact us via phone or email (see below). WHAT WILL THE SYSTEMS ENGINEER BE DOING? Leading the research, design, implementation, and support of products and solutions as the technical lead or design authority. Supporting product investment applications following a product roadmap. Applying system design skills across various technologies including electronic warfare (EW), RF cyber, applications, middleware, and radio bearers. Making technical decisions and solving problems, guiding engineering teams. Leading technical bids and producing senior technical documentation. Planning and executing integration, validation, and verification to mitigate delivery risks. Planning and executing domestic and international system installations and integrations. Engaging with stakeholders to assess solution viability, benefits, and risks, providing decision support. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience with system engineering life cycles, tailoring, and planning. Experience working with commercial managers and civil contractors for system installation and deployment. Leading design reviews. Requirements elicitation and management. Risk and opportunity management. Configuration management and baseline development throughout the lifecycle. Understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW) and both military and civil communication systems. Knowledge of hardware, firmware, and software, including SDR with high-speed ADCs and RF sub-systems. Experience with production environments, manufacturing equipment, and test fixtures. Knowledge of product qualification, safety standards, legislation, and sign-off processes. Understanding of environmental regulations, EMC regulations, and working with specialists for sign-off. Applicants must be Sole British nationals with active SC Clearance.
