Location HI - Honolulu The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a DX Netops Database Administration (Spectrum) to support our government customer located in Fort Shafter, Hawai'i. Responsible for the administration, performance, and security of Spectrum databases and related systems, supporting the operational needs of regional users. This role requires proficiency with Broadcom's DX Netops suite and a strong background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, network protocols, and cybersecurity compliance. Description Of Responsibilities
Maintain and administer Spectrum databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability. Monitor and secure database infrastructure to align with service-level requirements for uptime, performance, and resource utilization. Manage the full lifecycle of Broadcom's DX Netops suite, including: DX Netops Spectrum DX Netops CAPM DX Netops NFA DX OI Ensure secure communication between Netops servers using SSL/TLS certificates (via Java Keytool and OpenSSL), PKI, and multi-factor authentication. Manage user accounts with read-only access privileges. Configure and support network management protocols including SNMPv3, NetFlow, Syslog, and SMTP alerts. Troubleshoot SNMP communication issues across monitored network devices. Administer RHEL8 networking features such as interface configuration, DNS updates, and routing verification. Diagnose and resolve systemd service failures via log analysis and tools like curl and tcpdump. Modify system configurations including file permissions, cron jobs, and fstab entries. Perform MySQL database backups, configure failover solutions, and execute recovery from corruption events. Monitor and optimize system resources including CPU, memory, and storage usage. Apply security hardening techniques on RHEL8 systems using SELinux policies and firewall configurations. Maintain the security, patching, and operational integrity of server-based systems, ensuring high availability. Respond to service incidents, change requests, and restore disrupted services in a timely manner. Provide technical support for enterprise system applications. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Must meet DoD 8140 requirements for a Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist (Work Role Code 421). Possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field; alternatively, an approved certification may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Must hold one of the following DoD 8140.01-M Intermediate-level baseline certifications or higher at time of hire: Cloud+, SSCP, Security+, GSEC, CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP or CISSP-ISSEP. Required Skills And Experience
Demonstrated ability to administer and secure Linux servers (preferably RHEL) for continuous security monitoring and incident response. Hands-on experience with DX Netops (particularly Spectrum) database management and Linux systems administration. Strong knowledge of data flow, integrity, and secure routing principles. Familiarity with CORA inspection processes and DISA STIG/SRG compliance frameworks. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong documentation practices. Required Citizenship And Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Minimum Secret clearance; must be TS eligible based on investigation type (T5).
