DevOps Engineer
who is adept at developing Model-Based Systems engineering applications. This role can be based at our headquarters in Waltham, MA, or our offices in Plano, TX; Royal Oak, MI; or San Diego, CA. As a
DevOps Engineer , you will: Collaborate with customers across the U.S. to install, configure, and customize our strategic repository solutions:
Collaboration Studio and Teamwork Cloud (TWC) . Tailor installations to fit complex, heterogeneous environments and provide technical consultation during deployments. Support the development team with feedback on usability, performance, and bugs. Develop and maintain installation scripts and configuration files. Troubleshoot and adapt deployments based on customer-specific hardware and network configurations. Assist customers with data migration planning and execution. Travel up to 5% within the U.S. and Europe. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - 6+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role; a background in system, network, or database administration is highly desirable. - Excellent communication skills, with proven experience in external customer-facing roles.
Operating Systems & Scripting: - Proficiency in Linux (preferably RedHat/CentOS): o Viewing, editing, and searching configuration/log files o Package installation and configuration o File system management (mounting, usage analysis, permissions, ownership) o Shell scripting (e.g., Bash, csh) - Some experience with Windows Server environments. Databases & Storage: - In-depth understanding of storage systems. - Optional: hands-on experience with Apache Cassandra: o Cluster management o Data backup and restoration o Performance tuning o
(DataStax Cassandra Administrator Certification is a plus) Networking & Security: - Strong grasp of networking concepts: o TCP/IP, firewalls, proxy/reverse proxy configuration, load balancing - Understanding of SSL certificates and encryption principles. - Experience with container technologies, particularly Docker. - Industry certifications (e.g., Cisco) or formal training in relevant technologies. - Knowledge of enterprise network topologies, routing, load balancing, and storage systems. - Familiarity with cybersecurity principles. - Java troubleshooting experience (understanding of heap management and garbage collection; programming knowledge not required). Salary transparency: Compensation will be commensurate with experience, with an expected range between $127,020 and $174,000, including base salary and target bonus.
