We are seeking an experienced
Data Analyst
to support government audit and fraud detection efforts for a long-term contract in
Raleigh, North Carolina . This role requires a detail-oriented data professional with a strong grasp of SQL, Python or R, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau. You will be working closely with auditors, investigators, and representatives of various state agencies to identify fraud, waste, and inefficiencies through data insights. Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from state government departments and systems.
Identify trends, irregularities, and outliers in operational or financial data.
Develop dashboards, charts, and data visualizations to support audit teams.
Collaborate with investigators and auditors to create evidence-based reports.
Automate reporting and analysis processes to improve efficiency.
Ensure data accuracy, privacy, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Contribute to predictive modeling and risk assessment frameworks.
Present findings to internal teams and external government stakeholders in an understandable format.
Data Analyst Required Skills and Qualifications
3+ years of experience
in data analysis, ideally within government, finance, or audit domains.
Strong proficiency in
SQL , and either
Python
or
R .
Hands-on experience with visualization platforms like
Power BI ,
Tableau , or similar.
Understanding of
auditing principles ,
governmental accounting , or
compliance frameworks
is highly desirable.
Exposure to
machine learning ,
predictive analytics , or
data mining
is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in
Data Science ,
Statistics ,
Computer Science ,
Business Analytics , or a related field. A Master’s degree is a strong advantage.
