Job Description

Overview:

• We’re launching a fast-paced data engineering initiative within the Automotive vertical, focused on telematics.
• The project involves migrating a complex data pipeline from Oracle to AWS and Databricks . We’re currently in the early discovery and strategy phase , with engineering development to follow.
• To support this effort, we are seeking a Staff Data Engineer with strong consulting experience and leadership potential to drive both strategy and implementation phases.

Responsibilities:

Phase 1 – Discovery & Strategy

• Conduct technical interviews with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements.
• Document current state and define specifications for the future-state data pipeline.
• Collaborate with the data architect to design scalable and modern data solutions on AWS/Databricks.
• Identify technical risks, migration paths, and key architectural decisions.

Phase 2 – Development & Delivery

• Lead a team of data engineers through implementation and testing of the new data pipeline.
• Contribute hands-on to development in AWS and Databricks.
• Oversee migration activities and ensure data quality, performance, and security standards are met.
• Act as the primary technical contact for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of data engineering experience, preferably in a consulting or client-facing role.
• Strong expertise in AWS and Databricks , including building and deploying production-grade data pipelines.
• Experience designing data architectures and conducting stakeholder interviews.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data lakehouse concepts, and pipeline orchestration.
• Familiarity with Oracle databases (desirable for legacy system analysis and migration).
• Proven leadership skills in managing technical teams and project delivery.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
