What to Expect
The Data Governance Technical Manager is responsible for the management, facilitation and administration of the technologies supporting data governance initiatives and programs such as leveraging all of HCA data assets to optimize our financial and regulatory reporting capabilities, increase profitability, promote data driven decision-making, data cataloging, and data quality monitoring. This role will maintain data policies, data standards and governance, ensure consistent data quality, integration of data both operationally and analytically to ensure the certified data used in metrics and reporting across HCA functions are consistent.
What You Will Do
· Provide assessments, updates, guidance, and recommendations regarding Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) for master data including Personal Identifiable Information, data classification and glossary association ownership, definitions, taxonomies, standards, and industry reference data through proactive discovery and resolution.
· Act as the knowledge resource to work with our 3 rd party vendor and data stewards to address and resolve critical data elements.
· Evaluate current processes to determine future resource needs and capabilities.
· Ensure Enterprise Data Catalog is fully functional, and all required testing is up to date and completed.
· Partner with IT and other teams in all phases of the development lifecycle, with significant participation in data integration design and development, advocating for standardization, reviewing performance results, and preparing for implementations.
2. Data Quality:
· Perform data quality rule checks to identify quality gaps in applicable dimensions based on intended use.
· Design and develop data quality rule logic to monitor data quality scorecard results to meet standard thresholds.
· Work with appropriate data steward to resolve data quality scorecard exceptions.
3. Enterprise Data Governance Tool Administration:
· Administer and maintain the Enterprise Data Governance technology tools such as Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC), server maintenance, patch, upgrade, and performance of monthly Metadata source system scanning.
· Act as the Data Governance team ambassador in raising open cases with Informatica Support to address CDGC issues and resolution.
· Maintain compliance with the Role Based Access Control policy to ensure database exception requests are properly evaluated and authorized in accordance with database guidelines and permissions.
4. Data Governance Initiatives:
· Manage and lead in the discovery, design, and implementation of Data Governance technical initiatives.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
· Minimum 5-7 years progressive experience in data governance and data flow management.
· Experience with Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) tools like Informatica PowerCenter (CDGC, Metadata Manager, IDQ, EDC formerly EIC and PowerExchange including installations and upgrades.
· Experience with various operating platforms, metadata management, and extensive experience with SQL and ETL.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
· Working knowledge in setting up and tuning Informatica Integration Services.
· Working knowledge on Informatica grid with multiple nodes.
· Thorough understanding of MDM concepts including, but not limited to: Match Rules Tuning, workflow, IDD etc
· Working knowledge with ETL Code deployments (repository, folder, workflow and mapping level).
· Proficient in data analysis, metadata, data quality, audit, design, creating DFD, HLD, LLD, Technical specification document (TSD) and Solution Approach documents.
· Working knowledge with Database administrator to troubleshoot any problems
· Working knowledge in setting up the monitoring process for Informatica tools.
· Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand business and technical functions, processes and information quickly.
· Administration experience in Informatica Data Governance Suites such as CDGC, Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) and Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC).
· Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to explain complex systems and data succinctly.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
