The Sr. Data Scientist – Big Data – Cyber will apply Data Science to solve enterprise Medical Device Cybersecurity, Network security, Attacks & Events. Leverage big data in support of an enterprise-scale Medical Device Cybersecurity program spanning Risk Management, Cyber Digital Transformation, Threat Management, Network Security, End Point Security, IT Controls, Security Operations, and Identity and Data Management. The role provides strategic insights into Medical Device cybersecurity protection and network security improvements. Key Responsibilities
Analyze large datasets and develop statistical models to identify patterns and support strategic decisions. Analyze data from sources such as Splunk, Qualis, CMDB/Asset Inventory, CyberArk, Armis, ForeScout, and others. Gather requirements and present data, models, and visualizations using tools like R, Tableau, SQL, Jupyter, Periscope, D3, ggplot. Identify cybersecurity and machine learning opportunities, including threat detection, attack prediction, prevention, and response. Design and implement machine learning solutions using regression, clustering, classification, and statistical profiling. Utilize AI and Machine Learning in supervised and unsupervised scenarios. Work with data related to Network Security, network traffic, endpoint protection, application security, user and device behavior analytics, and data in transit and at rest. Detect network attacks, analyze network traffic, perform anomaly detection, classify encrypted traffic, and conduct forensic clustering, especially for Medical Device endpoint protection. Qualifications for Success
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields. Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their practical applications. Experience with data architecture, statistical modeling, validation, and deployment. Strong statistical knowledge including regressions, time series, Bayesian methods, clustering, and classification. Experience with distributed data tools like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, Cloudera. Proficiency in data visualization tools and languages such as R, Tableau, Jupyter, D3, ggplot. Programming expertise in R, Python, SQL, and familiarity with big data tools like PySpark, Scala, Java. Experience working with large data lakes and databases. Proven ability to apply data science methods to real-world problems. Preferred Expertise
Understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, encryption, threat management, and IT controls. Logistics
Local candidates in Denver only; no relocation assistance. Primarily remote, with periodic in-office visits post-COVID. Must be fully vaccinated or have an exemption.
