Mission Focus:
NT Concepts is seeking a Tier 2 Database Developer to support the DoD enterprise Military Housing system. This complex system of 34 web-based modules is used by over 10,000 active users to meet the housing needs of over 2.5 million service members, DoD civilians, and their families.
Job Description:
We're looking for a detail-oriented Oracle Database Developer to support the day-to-day health, accuracy, and performance of our enterprise database systems. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for performing data updates, executing large-scale imports, and ensuring system reliability through precise analysis and automation.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving data-related problems, keeping systems accurate and clean, and working behind the scenes to ensure our applications function seamlessly.
Clearance : Top Secret
Location/Flexibility:
Local to the DC Metro Area or Norfolk, VA. Remote Flexible
Travel Required:
Occasional travel to Norfolk, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, optimize, and maintain
PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views
to support enterprise applications. Analyze and enhance existing database modules, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with project requirements. Respond to and resolve customer questions or issues related to Oracle databases, focusing on
PL/SQL-based solutions . Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration between Oracle database operations and application requirements. Collaborate with a support team to diagnose and resolve front-end user issues stemming from database dependencies Perform database tuning and optimization to enhance query performance. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database components, processes, and updates. Basic Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of Oracle DB, PL/SQL, and SQL. 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle database environments. Proven experience with data updates, imports, and integrity validation. Comfortable using tools like Toad or SQL Developer. Experience with Git/GitHub and scripting tools. Familiarity with data modeling and database security best practices. Bachelor's degree in technical field. Active
CompTIA Security+
or equivalent DoD 8140-compliant cert. Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and strong communication skills. Basic understanding of database security best practices Familiarity with data modeling concepts and tools Highly self-motivated with the capability to independently analyze codebases and perform in-depth research with minimal supervision Ability to adapt to different teams and changing priorities and requirements Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies Understanding of Agile software development Excellent attention to detail Problem-solving and critical thinking Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Java, C#, or Python Familiarity with Linux and Shell scripting. Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds at times.
