Director, Digital Process Control Solutions
to lead the development, implementation, and optimization of data consumption solutions that enable modeling, prediction, and digital process control systems, aligning with Vertex's strategic goals to enhance product development and manufacturing efficiency and quality. Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesVision and Strategy
Develop and execute the data and technology strategy for digital manufacturing process control, aligning with business, regulatory, and operational objectives. Align the strategic vision for digital manufacturing process control with broader organizational goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational objectives and regulatory requirements. Operational Execution
Oversee implementation and management of data and technology solutions for digital process control, including digital twins, control, and simulation services. Deliver a data-first strategy focusing on process insights to optimize medicines early in development, including prediction and digital design. Collaborate with IT and OT teams to integrate control engineering technologies into manufacturing operations. Ensure solutions are developed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards, including compliance with GAMP, GXP. Monitor performance metrics to assess system effectiveness. Leadership
Lead a diverse team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and inclusion. Communicate with senior leadership to align on strategic priorities and project impacts. Represent the team in cross-functional initiatives, advocating for data-driven approaches. Manage project lifecycle, from planning to deployment, including change management. Develop budgets and attract, develop, and retain talent. Knowledge and Skills
Deep experience in designing and implementing data and technology solutions in biotech manufacturing environments. Proficiency in data management, automation, AI/ML, and digital transformation. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with Agile methodologies, software development lifecycle, and information security. Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Computer Science, or related; advanced degree preferred. Minimum 10 years in biotech manufacturing or supply chain management. Proven success in digital process control systems, GMP compliance, and cross-modality experience. Location and Other Requirements
Hybrid role based in Boston, MA, with 3 days/week on-site. Willingness to travel up to 30%. Experience with AI, machine learning, and data engineering strategies preferred. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $190,400 - $285,600, plus bonus and equity. Vertex offers comprehensive benefits supporting employee growth and wellbeing.
