Base pay range

$200,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr

We are looking for a strategic and experienced Director of Data Engineering to lead the vision, execution, and team development behind our enterprise data platform. In this role, you will oversee the architecture and operations of all data engineering efforts, guiding a team of managers and engineers responsible for enabling trusted, scalable, and governed data systems. You’ll play a critical role in partnering with business, analytics, and product leaders to ensure data is a competitive asset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the long-term vision, roadmap, and strategy for the Data Engineering function.
• Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team, including senior engineers and data engineering managers.
• Collaborate with executive leadership across analytics, IT, product, and business units to align data priorities with organizational goals.
• Oversee data platform modernization, data governance, and data integration strategies across systems and domains.
• Establish standards for data quality, scalability, security, and compliance.
• Partner with enterprise architects and technology leaders to evaluate tools and platforms for performance, cost, and alignment with company strategy.
• Manage team budgets, vendor relationships, and resource planning.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform leadership roles, including at least 5 years of people leadership.
• Proven success building and leading large teams in matrixed, cross-functional environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, data governance, and platform operations at scale.
• Experience partnering with business executives and presenting strategy at the leadership level.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms and cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) from a leadership and planning perspective.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
