About the Role
The Company is in search of a Director and Senior Counsel for M&A Competition and Global Law. The successful candidate will be a key member of the legal M&A and global law team, providing expert advice on U.S. and global merger control, antitrust, and competition law matters. This role demands a professional with a strong background in substantive antitrust law, including experience with HSR/EC merger filing processes, and a proven track record in global merger clearance. The Director and Senior Counsel will be responsible for day-to-day support of the merger control program for M&A transactions worldwide, offering sound and commercially pragmatic legal counsel, and managing various ad hoc matters. The position also involves training business leaders on competition-related transaction risks and refining global merger clearance strategies.
Applicants must have a JD from a U.S. accredited law school, be a licensed attorney, and have at least 5 years' of experience in the field. The role requires a candidate with substantial business judgment, a strong work ethic, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters in a fast-paced environment. Experience with multijurisdictional analysis, merger clearance investigations, and second requests is essential. The ideal candidate will have a background in a top law firm and may have previous in-house experience with a multinational corporate legal department or employment with regulatory bodies such as the FTC, DOJ, or European Commission. Intellectual curiosity, high learning agility, and the ability to adapt to complex situations are also key attributes for this position.
