Kilroy Realty is seeking a strategic and technically seasoned Director of Data & Insights to lead the execution of Kilroy’s enterprise data strategy—supporting financial transparency, operational insight, and long-term AI enablement. Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Applications, this role is responsible for building and governing a secure, scalable, and business-aligned data foundation across the organization.
This is a high-impact role in a growing area of focus within Kilroy’s technology strategy, offering meaningful opportunities to shape how data drives decision-making and future innovation. The Director will work closely with the Cybersecurity and Enterprise Applications teams to define and operationalize a world-class data governance framework—enabling secure reporting, enterprise metric standardization, and scalable access to business-critical insights. The role will also collaborate with the Building Operations team, where emerging datasets present a strong opportunity to expand asset-level intelligence and advance operational analytics over time.
This leader will be responsible for overseeing data delivery efforts—including coordination with third-party vendors and consultants—and ensuring alignment with Kilroy’s enterprise architecture, delivery standards, and business priorities. They will work cross-functionally with stakeholders across Finance, Asset Management, Leasing, and Investments to ensure the data strategy translates into measurable enterprise performance outcomes.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical depth, cross-functional influence, and a proven ability to deliver scalable, high-trust data environments that support both current reporting needs and future innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Strategy & Governance
Lead the execution of Kilroy’s enterprise data strategy in close alignment with business and IT leadership
Partner with Cybersecurity to implement secure, compliant governance standards across reporting and access control
Establish consistent stewardship practices and business ownership for key datasets and metrics
Create trusted, enterprise-grade reporting structures that support decision-making at all levels
Design and evolve Kilroy’s enterprise data platform (Microsoft Fabric) with a focus on intentional, scalable architecture
Develop curated datasets, semantic models, and pipelines that reduce redundancy and promote reuse
Implement development and lifecycle standards that ensure long-term sustainability and performance
Reporting & Analytics Enablement
Increase enterprise reporting usability and transparency through Power BI and self-service tools
Standardize reporting processes across business domains to support alignment, consistency, and speed
Support internal adoption through enablement programs, training, and documentation
Manage internal data professionals spanning engineering, analytics, and reporting functions
Oversee third-party vendors and implementation partners to ensure quality, consistency, and cost-effectiveness
Build and mentor the team with an emphasis on technical excellence, business alignment, and professional growth
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a strategic advisor and delivery partner for the Finance and Accounting, FP&A, Asset Management, Leasing, Construction & Development, Human Resources and Investment teams
Collaborate with Building Operations to activate and expand insights from building-level systems and IoT datasets
Advocate for scalable, business-ready data solutions that enhance performance, forecasting, and strategic agility
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in enterprise data, analytics, or reporting leadership roles
Deep technical expertise in data architecture, modeling, data pipelines, and semantic layer development
Proven success implementing cloud-native data platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of financial reporting, operational KPIs, and business performance metrics
Experience managing internal teams and external data vendors in complex enterprise environments
Demonstrated success partnering with cybersecurity and compliance teams to build secure, auditable data environments
Excellent executive communication skills and ability to translate data complexity into business impact
Experience in the real estate industry or other asset-intensive environments strongly preferred
Experience supporting forecasting, advanced analytics, or AI initiatives is a plus
What we offer
At Kilroy, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within the role. The base pay range for this role is between $140,000 to $210,000 and your base pay will depend on your skills, experience and training, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus as well.
