Our client, a leading global investment bank, seeks an experienced and commercially driven Head of Trading – Eastern Power Markets to lead proprietary and client-focused trading strategies across PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE, and MISO.

Head of Trading responsibilities:

• Lead the Eastern U.S. power trading desk with responsibility for trading strategy, execution, risk management, and PnL generation.
• Develop and manage proprietary positions in day-ahead, real-time, and forward markets (including virtuals, FTRs, CRRs, and swaps).
• Develop trade ideas based on fundamental, quantitative, and locational spreads, as well as congestion and weather forecasts.
• Monitor ISO market developments and regulatory changes, and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Work closely with analytics, quant, and tech teams to improve forecasting tools, pricing models, and infrastructure.

Head of Trading experience:

• 10+ years of experience in U.S. power markets with a focus on PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE, and/or MISO.
• Demonstrated success generating consistent trading PnL in financial or physical power products.
• Deep understanding of FTR markets, congestion drivers, virtual bidding, and fundamental power market dynamics.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills with prior experience managing trading teams.
• Experience integrating renewable generation, battery storage, or load-side strategies into trading frameworks.
• Familiarity with emissions, RECs, capacity, and ancillary markets.
• Track record of developing and deploying algorithmic or systematic trading approaches.
