and play a crucial role in Project Kuiper, an initiative aimed at connecting underserved communities worldwide through low-latency, high-speed broadband from a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. In this exciting position, you will have the opportunity to identify security vulnerabilities in chips and low-level software that power satellite communications. You will work closely with various teams to ensure the highest security standards are met throughout the development process. Your responsibilities will include: Guiding the secure development of devices through threat modeling, security design, code reviews, and testing. Researching and developing innovative tools and techniques to enhance the security of devices at scale. Providing expert technical security consultation to device product teams. Identifying security risks and collaborating with product engineers to implement effective mitigations. Establishing new security policies and procedures. Promoting security knowledge within the organization by creating training materials. Participating in projects that generate new intellectual property. To qualify for this role, you should possess: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Strong experience with threat modeling and risk identification techniques. Knowledge of hardware security mechanisms, including secure boot and trusted execution environments. Familiarity with operating system internals, especially in Linux and common RTOS environments. Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash. Preferred Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Experience in semiconductor reverse engineering. Understanding of system and network security, authentication, security protocols, cryptography, and application security. Involvement in development teams that delivered commercial software, services, or hardware devices. Knowledge of wireless connectivity protocols such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and 802.15.4. Familiarity with common system security vulnerabilities, their remediations, and penetration testing techniques. The base salary for this position ranges from $136,000 to $212,800 annually, depending on your experience and market location. The job duties include working safety and cooperatively with other employees, adhering to excellence standards, communicating effectively to ensure exceptional service, and complying with all legal and company policies.
