Full-Time – Year-Round (260 Days) Founded in 2000, the Milwaukee Academy of Science is a K4-12th grade independent charter school serving almost 2,000 scholars at its two campuses. The mission of MAS is to graduate students prepared to compete successfully at the post-secondary level. African American students comprise 99% of the student body and over 97% of students qualify for free or reduced meals. Regardless of student background and external factors, MAS maintains the expectation that students should be on grade level and proficient on state assessments. Job Summary: The Director of School Operations reports to the CEO and works directly with the Director of Facilities and Operations, Principals, and department leaders to ensure effective and efficient internal school operations. This role is critical in ensuring all non-academic aspects of the school and district operate with excellence, allowing Academic Teams and staff to focus on student learning. I. Position Responsibilities: Oversee School Team Operations: Management of arrival and dismissal processes and associated staff Ensure the district hits its attendance goals and that school operations and staff have systems in place to achieve this Set a vision for and develop a team overseeing all facets of school operations across the district Ensure all schools meet key operational outcomes, including attendance Oversee budgeting, staffing, and strategic planning for the operations team Manage all facets of school operations to ensure excellence Collaborate with the Chief Strategy Officer and Parent Engagement Coordinator to maintain full enrollment and compliance with all requirements Drive teams to meet a daily attendance average of 94.0% Ensure all campuses are safe, secure, clean, cost-effective, and fully operational Maintain facilities that are professional, inviting, and reinforce MAS’s values Ensure facilities are ready for the first day of school at least one week prior Support effective data management practices for student data Ensure food services, transportation, safety, and certifications enable full student engagement Other responsibilities: Supervisory responsibilities for Transportation Coordinator and District Operations Coordinator Manage front office staff, customer service, procedures, and mail Order non-capital school supplies and uniforms Coordinate space allocation for partners and programs Lead annual registration events Manage K-12 space usage and signage Coordinate event setups and safety drills IV. Position Requirements: Three to five years of leadership and team management in a school setting A master's degree in education or a related field Strong management, strategic planning, operations, and communication skills Proven ability to set goals, develop action plans, and achieve results despite challenges
