Description DAP is a leading nonprofit organization providing long-term independent oversight of disaster management systems. It engages a dedicated community to advance policy research, advocacy, promote transparency, and encourage public participation in oversight, community organizing, and discussions about disaster preparedness and relief. Citizen oversight is crucial to ensure resources are effectively used, communities are engaged and resilient, and best practices are adopted to prevent repeated mistakes. Prior to DAP's creation, there was no dedicated, independent oversight of these critical agencies.
