As a Displays Software Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be part of the remote piloting software team. This team is responsible for developing pilot-facing application software used to command aircraft's advanced automation systems, both onboard and remotely. You will join a team of interdisciplinary and mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics, and self-driving vehicles. Responsibilities Your primary focus will be designing, architecting, and building real-time user interface applications for controlling our automated aircraft systems. These applications may include browser-based interfaces and real-time embedded UIs on aviation-grade hardware. They will support our efforts to build a fully certified system, serving as platforms for prototyping workflows, supporting test flights, and providing reference implementations for certified displays and controls. You will own the entire lifecycle of these applications, collaborating with software engineers, designers, systems engineers, and pilots to ensure safety, user-centered design, and certifiability. Basic Success Criteria Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience developing user-facing software for high-performance or mission-critical applications Proficiency with C/C++ and/or JavaScript Preferred Success Criteria 3+ years experience with core browser technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) 3+ years experience with C or C++ Experience developing reusable features using Web Components or JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, Lit, etc. Understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking Experience developing user-facing software requirements and following graphical specifications Familiarity with aviation display software development, including ARINC-661 and DO-178 Proficiency with design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, etc. Experience with human-in-the-loop testing and certification campaigns Commercial pilot license Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time. The estimated salary range is $110,000 to $160,000 annually, plus stock options, benefits, and other perks. We aim to provide competitive compensation based on experience, expertise, market conditions, location, and pay equity.
