Job Summary: We are looking for a Distribution Engineer with experience in utility and telecommunications to lead the design and coordination of utility distribution projects, smart grid systems, and the integration of intelligent devices. This role is ideal for someone with electrical engineering experience who is comfortable working in both CAD systems and field environments and has a strong understanding of distribution standards and systems.
Responsibilities: Prepare distribution voltage packages for overhead and underground projects, including equipment installs, conversions, feeder and cable replacements, and new feeder designs. Design new business projects such as primary/secondary line extensions and service installations for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Create designs using CAD systems. Handle or coordinate customer easements and local permitting activities. Track and coordinate progress on multiple projects. Develop project scopes and manage materials using tools like SAP or Maximo. Support and coordinate field/construction work and project closeouts. Collect field notes and perform occasional fieldwork in remote areas. Lead QA/QC processes and ensure compliance with applicable standards. Apply NESC and utility-specific standards, specifications, and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Work Environment & Physical Demands: Primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork and travel. Must be able to interpret technical drawings, sketches, and related documents.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program. FE or EIT certification preferred. 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience. Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, construction methods, and design/GIS software. Experience with power system analysis tools such as CYME or ETAP is preferred. Familiarity with load flow analysis and regulatory policy issues. Prior experience in utility and telecommunications operations, planning, or consulting is a plus.
