DRIVER LICENSES EXAMINER II (DRIVER LICENSES EXAMINER)- 76004371 Join to apply for the DRIVER LICENSES EXAMINER II (DRIVER LICENSES EXAMINER)- 76004371 role at State of Florida Requisition No: 848273 Agency: Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle Working Title: DRIVER LICENSES EXAMINER II (DRIVER LICENSES EXAMINER)- 76004371 Pay Plan: Career Service Position Number: 76004371 Salary: $40,028.64 (Includes CAD & CMP) Posting Closing Date: 03/04/2026 The Driver Licenses Examiner position is a professional, entry-level role responsible for providing services to the public, including determining and verifying driver eligibility and compliance, administering driving tests, issuing driver licenses, temporary licenses, and identification cards, and collecting payment from customers for goods and services. This is accomplished by administering vision, written, and road tests to driver license applicants; determination of qualifications; and the collection and processing of driver licenses fees. Duties And Responsibilities Provide services to the public, including determining and verifying driver eligibility and compliance. Administer driving tests and issue driver licenses, temporary licenses, and identification cards. Collect payment from customers for goods and services. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Skill in providing customer service to diverse clientele in a tactful, courteous, and non-judgmental manner. Ability to understand, interpret and apply state motor vehicle laws and statutes, and DHSMV operations, policies, and procedures. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Skill in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to handle cash and make correct change. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with others. Skill in operating a personal computer and performing data entry. Knowledge of procedures for operating motor vehicles, including cars and trucks. Ability to make sound, well-informed and objective decisions and assist in resolving problems. Ability to work well independently and within a team environment. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent. Occasional overtime is required. Must possess a valid Class E or higher driver's license; not learner's license and be at least 21 years of age. No cancellations, suspensions, or revocations of the driving privilege for a minimum of three (3) years prior to employment. Must pass a fingerprint-based background investigation. Preferred Qualifications Multi-lingual (fluent in speaking, reading, and/or writing a foreign language other than English). At least one year of full-time work experience involving customer contact or in a driver license/motor vehicle program area.
