Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Solid Waste Engineer to join our collaborative and dynamic engineering consulting team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of solid waste infrastructure projects from concept through construction and operations. You will support both public and private sector clients in planning, design, permitting, construction-phase services, and ongoing operational support.
Responsibilities
As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will:
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to meet project and program goals. Support evaluations and feasibility studies for solid waste and organics management programs and facilities. Plan, design, permit, and support construction of facilities such as: Landfill cells and closures Landfill gas management and reuse systems Composting facilities Transfer stations Convenience centers Integrated facility campuses Provide operational support for solid waste programs and infrastructure. Assist with other environmental and civil engineering projects as needed. Grow and develop across technical and managerial areas based on your experience and interests.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) actively working toward licensure. Minimum 5 years of environmental infrastructure design experience, with a focus on solid waste, landfill, and organics management facilities. Preferred: Experience with construction-phase services.
Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
Drug Screen Statement
Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.
Pay Range
$110,000—$140,000 USD
The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
