Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to find an EV System Test Engineer for a month part-time contract in Chicago, IL.
Summary Join bp pulse and lead the development of our in-house EV charger testing facility. As the testing activities leader, you will oversee scheduling, management, and execution of tests, ensuring high standards of performance and safety. You will also contribute to expanding testing resources and fostering innovation.

Job Description
Manage daily test lab activities aligned with testing programs.
Maintain and ensure safety of test equipment and facilities.
Implement safety programs per OSHA standards.
Develop and maintain test procedures and documentation.
Perform system testing on EV charging hardware focusing on user experience, reliability, and safety.
Create reports and analyze test data.
Collaborate with stakeholders to diagnose issues and refine testing methods.
Develop new testing tools and specify equipment upgrades.
Coordinate shipments and assist with logistics.
Supervise field testing and third-party lab testing when necessary.
Experience & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar.
At least 5 years in a testing role, preferably in automotive or EV industry.
Minimum 1 year managing a testing lab or similar environment.
Strong understanding of testing methodologies and safety standards.
Ability to develop detailed test plans and cases.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety programs.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs.
Desirable Criteria
Knowledge of EV charging systems, power electronics, electrical safety standards, and load management.
Experience with collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, and requirements management tools like JAMA.
Experience testing EV chargers and familiarity with standards like ISO 15118, CCS, DIN70121.
Experience with OCPP protocol and backend environments.
Programming skills and test automation experience.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
Travel Requirement Up to 25% travel may be required.
