Job Description:Insight Global is looking for a Powertrain Design and Release Engineer to join one of our automotive clients in Dearborn, MI. This team is responsible for the design and capability assessment of aftertreatment solutions. As a DRE in this role, you'd be responsible for developing and releasing exhaust aftertreatment solutions that meet worldwide tailpipe emissions regulations. Responsibilities:- Collaborate with technical specialists to define the best-in-class aftertreatment systems for gas and hybrid vehicles to meet worldwide emissions standards- Define aftertreatment systems to align with program performance objectives and durability requirements- Establish engineering specifications, component FMEA & DVP, identify and process system trade-offs to align with system boundary conditions- Create and maintain catalyst prints, engineering specs, application summary sheets, cost assumptions, etc. for three-way catalysts, gas particulate filters, and new aftertreatment technologies - Lead supplier meetings to improve manufacturing processes for function, cost, weight, and quality- Develop and track hardware and calibration solutions that meet system functional and cost objectives- Support evaluation of emerging aftertreatment technologies necessary to meet government emissions regulatory requirementsWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
