Join us! Job Summary The Project Manager will lead cross-functional project teams to successfully deliver new product developments, product improvements, and sustainment engineering initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this individual will oversee all phases of the project lifecycle—from initiation to closure—ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, compliance with regulatory standards, and adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. The PM will operate in a complex, regulated aerospace environment leveraging Agile principles, modular systems thinking, and concurrent engineering practices. This is a full-time in-office position in Hood River, Oregon. Essential Job Functions ·Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of technical projects using an Integrated Project Plan (IPP) framework. ·Develop, manage and report on project scope, cost, schedule, and performance metrics, using an Agile Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodology. ·Create and maintain Project Charters, Product Backlogs, and Burndown Charts in alignment with Agile methodology. ·Schedule and organize technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PRR, CDR, TRR) and ensure preparation and participation by key stakeholders, as well as conduct regular standups with the team to ensure alignment and continuous communication. ·Integrate product development efforts with configuration management and ensure proper baseline controls (functional, allocated, product). ·Collaborate across all functional areas including engineering (systems, signal processing, software, hardware, mechanical, etc.), production, finance, configuration management, program management, suppliers and executive leadership. ·Manage material and direct cost budgets; initiate purchase requisitions aligned with project plans and financial forecasts. ·Resolve resource conflicts by maintaining a transparent Project Resource Assignment Matrix and engaging in resource planning meetings. ·Oversee sustainment engineering projects including change requests, production support and internal training coordination. ·Develop innovative project strategies, contribute to continuous improvement and apply industry best practices in project management. ·Ensure compliance with ITAR, FAA certification processes and relevant software/hardware development guidelines (e.g. RTCA DO-178C, RTCA DO-278A, RTCA DO-254). ·Promote and maintain strategic relationships within and across departments to facilitate successful project execution. Education and Work Experience Requirements ·Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field (Software Engineering preferred). ·4+ years of experience in technical project management, preferably in the aerospace or defense industries. ·Experience working in Agile methodologies including continuous integration and delivery. ·Familiarity with aerospace industry standards, or other highly regulated industry, preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics ·Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. ·Experience with Agile values and principles, including leveraging Agile over Waterfall methodologies. ·Practiced at the art of relative sizing versus estimating. ·Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams through the full product life cycle. ·Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. ·Ability to develop, maintain, and interpret complex project schedules and budgets. ·Familiarity with project management and requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, JAMA) preferred. ·Skilled in data analysis, strategic planning, and decision-making based on quantifiable insights. ·High proficiency in identifying and mitigating project risks. ·Strong customer focus and ability to manage stakeholder expectations. ·Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. ·Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Employee is exposed to the typical office environment with computers, printers and telephones.
