Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician A is responsible for routine preventative maintenance and downtime activities for the facility and equipment. Technician must work safely and independently in conjunction with fellow maintenance personnel and production personnel as tasks demand. Must also develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the process, process equipment, controls, maintenance tasks, and the maintenance store areas. Maintain communication links with co-workers, members of production crews, maintenance personnel, and supervision. Perform necessary functions to log and record maintenance work activities and parts check out. Work with engineering on assigned projects. Shift: Open availability for all shifts including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift. drill, grinder, impact tools Able to properly use an electrical volt/ohm meter Performs basic carpentry skills Performs routine and non-routine tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager of equipment and facility Maintains a "willingness-to-learn-more" attitude through developed work habits, machine instruction booklets, self-taught skills courses, and outside educational programs Computer data entry
daily work log/equipment log/parts used and needed Ability to work any shift and overtime when required including callouts Maintains steam system equipment Maintains water treatment through sampling and testing Able to work independently Able to lead, mentor, and train Maintenance Technicians B and C Able to act as supervisor in the absence of the Maintenance Manager when requested Requirements Intermediate knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading Intermediate knowledge of plumbing
copper, black iron, steel, PVC piping Intermediate knowledge of pneumatic devices and troubleshooting Intermediate knowledge of steam boilers and operating systems Intermediate knowledge of hydraulic devices and troubleshooting Advanced ability to install electrical conduit and wire circuitry Intermediate knowledge of water treatment testing Intermediate use of milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, pipe threading machine Intermediate knowledge of Lubrication Intermediate knowledge of forklift operation and repair Excellent verbal and written communication skills Intermediate computer skills Complete knowledge of Safe work practices, PPE, LOTO, Confined Space, Hot work Advanced knowledge of mechanical machinery and troubleshooting Advanced knowledge of electrical circuits, control systems, and troubleshooting Advanced knowledge of electrical safe work practice Advanced knowledge of low- and high-pressure boilers and steam systems Journeyman Mechanical certification or Journeyman Electrical certification or documentation of training of electrical and mechanical knowledge or equivalent, preferred Welding certification, preferred Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Able to regularly stand, push, pull, bend, stoop, grip, walk, and climb in an 810-hour shift Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
