WCF Insurance Information Technology (IT) department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team in a Senior Business Intelligence Developer. The person in this position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable BI solutions that provide business insights and enable decision making throughout the company. This is a full-time, exempt position that works in WCF's Sandy, Utah office (NOT REMOTE). Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience At least five years of related work experience (or nine years of related work experience without a degree) Proficient in SQL, Python, and Microsoft business intelligence tools 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI in a professional, enterprise-grade BI environment Advanced proficiency in DAX, including performance tuning, reusable calculations, and complex business logic Proven experience working with centralized semantic models and shared measures to support scalable, governed reporting Experience with Power BI Administration, including workspace governance, deployment pipelines, and user access management is a plus Familiarity with Power BI AI capabilities (e.g., Smart Narratives, Q&A, Forecasting) and exposure to machine learning integration is a strong plus Essential Job Functions
Design, develop, and maintain scalable Power BI solutions including centralized semantic models and shared measures Ability to communicate and collaborate across disparate groups and levels in the organization and manage multiple stakeholder expectations, timelines, and deliverables Administer Power BI workspaces, manage deployment pipelines, ensure secure access and data integrity Optimize DAX queries and report performance across enterprise datasets Integrate advanced Power BI features including AI visuals and forecasting tools Support data governance efforts by ensuring consistency, accuracy, and "one version of truth" across reporting assets Mentor junior developers and contribute to BI best practices and standards Accountability & Requirements
Demonstrate ownership of BI solutions from design through deployment and support Maintain high standards of data quality, performance, and usability Exhibit strong problem-solving and communication skills in cross-functional environments Stay current with Power BI advancements, AI features, and enterprise BI trends Collaborate effectively with data engineers, analysts, and business users Contribute to continuous improvement of BI architecture, semantic modeling, and deployment processes Values
