Pay Range: $54.15hr - $59.15hr
The Project Manager will lead and manage moderate to complex technology and transformation initiatives that align with organizational goals. The role involves planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting across multiple concurrent IT and business-related projects. The ideal candidate brings strong project management discipline, government process knowledge, and a collaborative approach to driving change and innovation. Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and manage strategic and tactical project assignments Lead and deliver statewide enterprise and agency-level information technology initiatives. Ensure alignment of projects with business objectives and desired outcomes Oversee concurrent projects of varying complexity and risk levels. Provide guidance, task delegation, and leadership to project teams. Deliver project performance reporting to support data-driven decisions. Communicate project updates and outcomes to stakeholders and senior leadership. Assign priorities to project tasks in accordance with goals and situational needs. Translate conceptual ideas into actionable plans and successful implementation Interpret and apply rules, policies, and regulations throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare written reports and deliver professional presentations. Collaborate effectively across departments, teams, and external partners. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of SCDES’s mission, programs, and objectives. Knowledge of project management principles and best practices. Knowledge of state government procurement and fiscal policies and procedures. Ability to manage change and drive implementation. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to interpret rules and regulations. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to foster a cooperative and collaborative team environment. Demonstrated experience with business process redesign, especially in financial operations. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, IT, mathematics, statistics, management information science, or a related field. Experience in telecommunications, data processing, and/or information technology. Experience managing large projects of moderate complexity and risk. Required Skills:
3+ years of project management experience, particularly in IT. Proficiency in managing large-scale technology projects and transformation efforts. Expertise in performance tracking, reporting, and delivering results. Experience with financial applications and enterprise reporting. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Experience in financial process redesign to improve operational efficiency. Special Requirements:
Must hold Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
