Junior Mortgage Loan Processor
As a Junior Mortgage Loan Processor, your day will be filled with opportunities to assist with the processing of a mortgage loan to insure the loan meets our investors and compliance requirements. To better serve the customer, must have knowledge of the different products available. Work closely with all parties involved to create and maintain complete customer satisfaction. The role of a Junior Mortgage Loan Processor is to develop the required skill set through the duties and responsibilities listed below to grow into the Mortgage Loan Processor role.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide assistance to Mortgage Loan Processing staff by (but not limited to) reviewing and submitting files into up front underwriting, submitting appraisals to underwriting upon receipt, delivering appraisals to customers upon approval, ordering insurance and updating information, performing GSA/LDP verifications, employment verifications, etc.
- Notify loan officer and sales manager of missing items/corrections to be made in order to submit file into up front underwriting.
- Complete third party verifications such as tax/W2 transcripts and SS validations
- Order title and flood determinations
- Deliver flood notification cover letter, determination, and notice to the customer when property is determined to be in a flood plain.
- Follow up on status of outstanding items above by reviewing pipelines for past due documentation.
- Clear Processing conditions in software upon receipt
- Ensure the processing log is up to date with corresponding dates as assisting the processor with clearing conditions.
- Review pipelines daily for closing dates to ensure files are prioritized appropriately
- Keep all parties involved with the mortgage transaction current and up to date with the status of the loan during the review process
- Ability to provide complete and accurate HMDA reporting information
- Perform other departmental duties as workload and priorities dictate
- Assist other mortgage department personnel when necessary.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High school/GED education
- 1-3 years experience in FHA, VA, Conventional mortgage processing or underwriting.
- Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
- Comfortable communication with all levels of management and employees
- Proven knowledge of Automatic Underwriting Systems and Mortgage Processing Systems
- Proven knowledge and experience pertaining to the processing of conventional and government loans
- PC literacy with 35 WPM typing skill
- Strengths in problem solving and resolution
- Detailed oriented and self-motivating
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
