What You'll Do:
- Keep restrooms, lobbies, and event spaces clean, welcoming, and guest-ready.
- Set up tables, chairs, stages, drapes, and more for performances and events.
- Support a clean, safe, and well-run environment for artists, crews, and audiences alike.
- Ability to perform physically active work throughout the day, including standing, bending, stretching, walking, and using hands and wrists for repetitive tasks; capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80+ pounds occasionally, moving safely up and down stairs, and wearing backpack vacuum equipment for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and apply proper procedures for using cleaning equipment and supplies, including the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and the cleanup of spills or potentially infectious materials, with appropriate training and support.
- Skill in understanding and following both written and verbal instructions accurately; comfortable using basic technology such as smartphones, radios, and computers to support communication and task management.
- Ability to work reliably both independently and as part of a team, with a professional and positive approach when interacting with coworkers, clients, and the public; dependable in showing up on time and ready to contribute.
- Openness to learning new methods and adapting quickly to changes in procedures or tools; attention to detail with the ability to recognize areas that need extra care or special attention without needing to be prompted.

TO QUALIFY

Minimum qualifications
- One year of experience in facility cleaning or janitorial work; OR
- Any combination of education, professional, volunteer and lived experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.
Variable hour positions are limited to 1040 hours of work in a 12-month period.
Working Conditions: Duties may be performed under various conditions, which may include exposure to contaminated areas, enclosed spaces, at heights, indoor and outdoor locations under inclement weather, and other adverse conditions. Physically demanding position with frequent standing and lifting of 50 pounds on a regular basis; occasionally up to 80+ pounds. Work pressure and workflow disturbances are expected. As necessary to meet workload demands, may work outside of typical schedule including evening/weekend hours and holidays as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND REPRESENTATON
The hourly rate for this position is $23.35 per hour. Swing shifts receive a premium of $1.50 per hour in addition to the regular hourly rate.
This position is eligible for overtime and is represented by IUOE 701-1 and is classified as an Event Custodian.
